got this 7 quart digital crockpot for xmass and used it 3 times and i hab to transfer it over to a pot and finish cooking it on the stove. the beef stew recipe calls for 8 hrs on low but everything was still raw,tried 8 hrs high still raw how can i test

The digital timer on my 7 qt crockpot has gone crazy. It was working when I started it this morning but within an hour the timer has done a flashing countdown. It is still hot and seems to be working. Any suggestions?
