Hello there! Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! We regularly employ rigorous third-party testing to ensure that our Slow Cookers meet or exceed all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards, including those related to lead content. Our Slow Cookers are safe 100% to use. The glaze of our ceramic pots is a silicate made of quartz, feldspar and clay. The glaze is covered over the pot, fired at high temperature to melt the glaze and then cooled down. The glaze liquid is then turned into coating the same as glass film on the surface of the pot. This does not contain PTFE & PFOA. The FDA specifies allowable amounts of lead, cadmium and other substances. All the glazes that we use meet or exceed FDA requirements. For any further information, we encourage you to please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time. Thank you, and please stay safe!

Hello! Once the water has reached the desired temperature, the unit will beep twice, the preheat light will turn off, and the START light will begin to blink. First, remove the Temperature Probe from the Lid Opening without disconnecting the Probe Jack from the Control Panel. Then, remove the Lid and submerge your sealed ingredients. Once your food is submerged and covered, insert the metal Probe again through one of the Lid Openings. Ensure the Probe is not piercing any of the sealed bags and is only touching water as it is meant to monitor and maintain the water temperature. Press START to begin cook time. The lid doesn't fit tight & the ceramic pot is really loose too. Is this supposed to be like this? Even when I lock the lid I still see a gap under the edges. It's almost as if the pot isn't the right one for this unit. Only fit snug when put on crocked
