Care & Maintenance

ALWAYS turn your unit off, unplug it from the electrical outlet, and allow it to cool before cleaning. Dishwasher safe parts can be washed in the dishwasher or with hot, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaning compounds or scouring pads. A cloth, sponge, or rubber spatula will usually remove residue. To remove water spots and other stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner or vinegar. As with any fine ceramic, the stoneware and lid will not withstand sudden temperature changes. Do not wash the stoneware or lid with cold water when they are hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Char59 from Perfect! I totally loved my beautiful light blue crockpot!! Modern yet vintage look that will fit any kitchen decor for sure. In fact, everyone should own one because it will make your time easier in the kitchen for sure! The 4.5 quart size feeds about 5 people, has three manual heat settings( high, low & warm). It has a stoneware that is removable that is dishwasher safe and oven safe as well. It has a tampered glass lid and automatic shut off! The crockpot are ideal to make soups, Chiles, stews, pot roast, and cheese dips for nachos! But really just use your imagination and the crockpot will come through every time for you. Perfect size and wonderful gift ideas!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Drcatlady from Poor performance I’ve used a manual 8 quart crockpot for about 9 years. That unit functioned as described. I prepared a vegetable stew this morning and filled the 4.5 qt unit to 2/3 full. This 4.5 qt unit does not heat food inside the ceramic container above a lukewarm temp (one that I can put my finger into) after two hours on the high setting. The outside is quite hot ( as was my older 8 qt unit). I’m disappointed in this performance. If high setting does not produce a high food temperature after a couple of hours, it is not feasible for me to reset to a low setting as I leave the house. The food won’t be cooked. That’s the point of a slow cooker!

Rated 2 out of 5 by nannydebbi from Attractive appliance The Crockpot 4.5 -Quart MANUAL is very attractive to look at with pleasing natural colors that would look well in any kitchen. I also liked the round, more compact shape instead of oblong. I have used it to make several meals according to this crock pots directions and food such as Chilli ,turned out well, no burning or scorching. The feature that is concerning to me is the outside temperature of the pot and its metal band at the top of the pot. They are exceptionally hot to the touch. The handles and lid are fine to touch, but the pot itself and the silver band are actually dangerously hot. I have used oblong and oval crock pots in the past and never experienced this issue.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mitchd from I bought this to replace my old crockpot. it was from 1987. I wanted to love this but it has the same issue as another newer brand I tried. The low setting is too hot. There is no way I would trust this to cook all day on low while I am away at work. My meat was very dry and on the verge of burning. The liquid around the edges of the crock was burned and there were splatter marks all over the inside from where it was boiling.

Just what you would expect from Crockpot. It cooked a dinner with ease. The clean up was easy. This is what I didn't like about it. The outside of the machine got very hot. It seems like the walls are too thin for the amount of heat needed to cook a meal all day long. The underside of the machine was also very hot. I was glad that I was home when it was in use. I had this sitting on a tempered glass counter saver, thank goodness. This is the reason for the four stars instead of five stars.

I have a really big complicated slow cooker and was wanting something that is not so cumbersome and complicated to use. This is it. One knob three settings, all you need. Great size for 2 people. I put a small chuck roast in it (frozen even). It was perfect. The crock easily went right in the dishwasher for easy clean up! I will be using this a lot. The only thing i found a little disappointing is how hot the outside got while cooking. Just remember that so you won't be surprised.

It sits well on my counter and I like that it is easy to store. The look of the crockpot is lovely. The base is nice and light and the inside cook pot is sturdy with a very nice ceramic look. The crockpot is easy to use and has all the features I need. I love the convenience of cooking with the crock pot. I can warm up leftovers from the night before in it or cook a nice hearty meal for my family. I will be using it quite a bit this fall and winter for soups, roasts, chicken and rice meals and so much more! I would very highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bspanish2 from The best invention since sliced bread!! I love, love, love this crockpot! This came with a bunch of tips and tricks, recipes, and is very user friendly. I made a delicious corned beef stew using this, and the food turned out better than using my old crockpot. The stoneware is sturdy and incredibly easy to clean. This crockpot even has a warm setting so you won't burn your food after it's finished cooking, which is a feature that my old crock pot did not have. My one suggestion for this producr would be to have a longer cord. Other than that, this bad boy is super compact, easy to use and easy to clean. This is a must in every busy household.

On your slow cooker, both high and low stabilize at the same temperature (209&deg;F); it is just a matter of how long it takes to reach the simmer point. 

On high, it takes approximately 3-4 hours, whereas, on low, it takes approximately 7-8 hours to reach the simmer point. Once food reaches the simmer point, total cook time is dependent on the cut and weight of meat to reach the point of maximum flavor and texture potential.

Most dishes can be prepared on either high or low. This is uniform across all of our current models. In the warm setting, your slow cooker will be between 165-175&deg;F.

This is a manual unit, meaning it has to be set to WARM manually, just as to all the other modes, by turning the knob. The cooking time has to be measured manually as well - with a clock or a timer, for example.
