Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us with your question about the Crock-Pot Lunch Crock Food Warmer. This product is designed specifically to warm food and maintain it at a warm temperature rather than keeping it cold. To ensure food stays safe until you're ready to heat it, we recommend storing it in a refrigerator or using an insulated cooler with ice packs before transferring it to the lunch crock for warming. If you have any additional questions, feel free to let us know. Thank you! CrockPot Consumer Care.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out with your question about the Crock-Pot® Lunch Crock® Food Warmer. The Lunch Crock® is designed to gently warm pre-cooked food rather than cook raw ingredients. When used as intended, your pre-cooked food should be safe as long as it is kept refrigerated prior to placing it in the warmer and then thoroughly heated before consumption. The time food remains in the "danger zone" (40°F–140°F) depends on several factors, including the starting temperature of your food and the ambient room temperature. For best results: 1. Ensure your food is pre-cooked and stored in the refrigerator before use. 2. Allow the Lunch Crock® sufficient time to thoroughly heat the food, usually about 2-3 hours depending on the portion size. 3. To confirm your food has reached a safe temperature, you can use a food thermometer to ensure it has reached at least 165°F before eating. If you have further questions or concerns, please let us know. https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us Thank you so much! CrockPot Consumer Care

Hey Heidi222 On your slow cooker, both high and low stabilize at the same temperature (209°F); it is just a matter of how long it takes to reach the simmer point. On high, it takes approximately 3-4 hours, whereas, on low, it takes approximately 7-8 hours to reach the simmer point. Once food reaches the simmer point, total cook time is dependent on the cut and weight of meat to reach the point of maximum flavor and texture potential. Most dishes can be prepared on either high or low. This is uniform across all of our current models. In the warm setting, your slow cooker will be between 165-175°F.
