Hello, thank you for reaching out to us. What you’re experiencing is actually pretty common and usually happens due to pressure buildup inside the unit while heating. Even if the inner lid is screwed on tightly, steam from your soup or food can create enough pressure to cause the lid to pop off. Here are a few tips to help prevent this: Loosen the inner lid slightly – You don’t need to unscrew it completely; just allow a tiny gap for steam to escape. Don’t overfill – Make sure your food is below the “max fill” line. Overfilling increases pressure buildup. Stir if possible – This helps distribute heat evenly and reduces steam pockets. Check consistency – Very thick or chunky soups can trap steam more easily. If you follow these steps, you should see the lid stay secure while reheating. We hope this helps! Stay safe and enjoy your soup. Hello! Thank you for your question and for considering one of our products. Regarding the inserts from the old model, it depends on the specific generation of both your old and new units. While some past versions have compatible dimensions, others have slight differences in depth, width, or the seal fit, which may cause incompatibility. To best assist you, could you please provide: 1. The model number of your old Lunch Crock (Often printed on the bottom). 2. The model number of the new unit (Also printed on the bottom of the packaging). 3. Any measurements you have (Inner diameter, depth) for the insert or cooking bowl. Once we have that information, we can verify whether your old insert will fit your new unit or advise on obtaining a compatible insert. We appreciate your patience and are here to help you get the best use out of your Crock-Pot Lunch Crock. https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us Have a nice day! Crock-Pot Consumer Care Team

Hello Emma, Thanks for your question. The Crock-Pot® Lunch Crock® Food Warmer is designed to gently heat and warm pre-cooked meals and soups, not to boil water or cook raw foods. It operates at a warming temperature that’s safe for maintaining and reheating food, so it won’t reach the high temperatures needed for boiling. For best results, we recommend using it with already cooked foods or hot liquids you’d like to keep warm until mealtime. Hello Milena! Thanks for your question. The Crock-Pot Lunch Crock® Food Warmer is designed to be plugged into a standard wall outlet (120V) and does not come with a car adapter. Therefore, it’s not made to be heated directly in a car. If your husband needs to keep his food warm while driving, you might consider portable food warmers specifically designed for use with a car’s 12V outlet (cigarette lighter). Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us with your question about the Crock-Pot Lunch Crock Food Warmer. This product is designed specifically to warm food and maintain it at a warm temperature rather than keeping it cold. To ensure food stays safe until you're ready to heat it, we recommend storing it in a refrigerator or using an insulated cooler with ice packs before transferring it to the lunch crock for warming. If you have any additional questions, feel free to let us know. Thank you! CrockPot Consumer Care.
