Hello! Thank you for reaching out! It's not uncommon to notice a slight electrical smell when using a Crock-Pot® for the first time. This smell often comes from the heating elements and can dissipate after a few uses. However, if the smell persists or becomes stronger, or if you notice any other unusual signs, we recommend discontinuing use and contacting customer support for further assistance. Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us. We are happy to assist you with your inquiry. Please use the "HOUR" and "MINUTE" buttons to select cook time in increments of 15 minutes, up to 20 hours. Select the time based on the length of time indicated in the recipe. The time will begin to count down in one minute increments. Use "CANCEL TIMER" to clear the countdown timer. This will allow your slow cooker to remain on its current setting until turned off. For recipes that require a range of times, select the time closest to the setting on your slow cooker. For example, to cook a recipe calling for a cooking time of 7 to 9 hours on LOW, cook for 8 hours. When the cooking time has completed, the Crockpot™ slow cooker automatically shifts to the "KEEP WARM" setting and the "KEEP WARM" light illuminates. To turn the Crockpot™ slow cooker off, press the "START/STOP" button and unplug the unit from the outlet. We hope this information proves helpful. Hello! Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! If you have a locking lid feature on your glass lid it’s extremely important to never lock the lid during the cooking process. Locking the lid during cooking, will keep the steam in producing pressure which could affect the slow cooker’s performance. The lid should be locked only when you move your CrockPot around, so it stabilizes the lid. We hope this information proves helpful, and if you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us directly via https://www.crockpot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. Hello! Due to the proximity between the heating element and the exterior of our slow cookers, it is normal for them to get quite hot on the outside. The heating element wraps around the sides of the unit. Therefore, on both the outside of the unit and in the product's instruction manual we recommend using a hot pad if you need to touch the unit during cooking. Hello there Jewels127, Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! On this unit, you can schedule a meal with MyTime Technology, first you need to set up the timer so it shows the actual time. Later, simply select your food type, amount, and you will be able to control what time will cooking cycle finish. MyTime automatically adjusts cooking cycle to your exact time. There are also Manual options for more control. After the cooking cycle is complete, the slow cooker will automatically switch to Warm setting and the timer will show how long the unit is on Warm. We hope this information helps. Should you have any further inquiries, we encourage you to please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time.

Hello! Here is a recipe for cooking chicken in a cream sauce using a Crockpot and the MyTime feature for 4.3 lbs of chicken breast pieces: Ingredients: 4.3 lbs chicken breast pieces Salt and pepper, to taste 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons butter 1 onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup chicken broth 1 cup heavy cream 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional) Instructions: Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off any excess. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until softened. Transfer the onion and garlic to the crockpot. Add the chicken broth and heavy cream in the skillet and stir to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Pour the mixture over the chicken in the crockpot. Add the chicken breast to the crockpot, make sure they are covered with the sauce. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender. Garnish with parsley before serving. Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your chicken breast pieces and your desired level of doneness. You can use a meat thermometer or the MytTme feature you have to check if the chicken is cooked through. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F (74°C) when it is fully cooked. Enjoy your meal! Hello Lindzy! Thank you for your inquiry. Both low and high stabilize at 209°F. The difference is the time it takes to reach that temperature. Low: 7-8 hours to reach the simmer point. High: 3-4 hours to get to the simmer point. For further inquiries, kindly contact us via https://www.crock-pot.ca/en_CA/customerservicecontact?cid=contactus or LiveChat.
