Care & Maintenance
    • ALWAYS turn your unit off, unplug it from the electrical outlet, and allow it to cool before cleaning. Dishwasher safe parts can be washed in the dishwasher or with hot, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaning compounds or scouring pads. A cloth, sponge, or rubber spatula will usually remove residue. To remove water spots and other stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner or vinegar. As with any fine ceramic, the stoneware and lid will not withstand sudden temperature changes. Do not wash the stoneware or lid with cold water when they are hot.
Warranty
1 Year Limited Warranty. See Instruction Manual for Additional Details.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE THIS 8 QUART CROCK POT I HAVE ALREADY USE IT AT LEAST TWICE IN A WEEK. I WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO MAKE A 10 QUART OR EVEN A 12 QUART I HAVE A LARGE FAMILY AND LOVE TO MAKE A WHOLE MEAL IN THE COOKER. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. I ALSO HAVE YOUR 6.5 QUART COOKER AND I LOVE THAT ONE AS WELL.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not a SLOW cooker! We have had a slow cooker from Crock Pot for decades. I really don't know when we got it. We loved that we could load it and it would be ready after work or after church. It was so reliable that I trusted it's time recommendations in the cookbook that came with it. This new one boils everything, even on low. I can't trust it. things that need to be cooked low and slow cannot be cooked in my 8qt Crock Pot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, But Not Perfect The capacity is great as I often double the recipes to freeze for a later date. The reason for 4 stars is the fact that the rubber feet do not stay attached. I've been replacing them but now it wobbles as I can't find the one rubber foot pad. Bad design flaw, you shouldn't have to go chasing for these if they were properly attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I try to cook everyhting but my steaks in it! I have had my eight quart for three years. I am also a single man that doesnt have alot of time to cook. I use my cooker to do the heavy lifting such as making pinto beans or homemade chili all the way up to briskets with vegetables and pork roasts to turkeys. I marinate the meat for two days, put it in set the time I am going to be at work and when I get home I have three days of dinner waiting for me. My cooker sames me serious money and I eat better than eating out. Thank you for making it easy to be healthier.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overall Satisfied but could have been better. I recently purchased the traveling 6.5 Quart Crock Pot, and did a pot roast, and needed some more room, so I purchased this 8.5 Crock Pot with the accessory Little Warmer to make larger meals. I ordered not only this unit, but an extra Little Warmer. They all arrived in good shape, well packaged, and I was happy. When I unpacked the crock pot, I noticed a big difference in the outer casing than the 6.5 I already had. It was thinner, more lightweight in metal. It almost doesn't feel like metal at all, but it is. The lid is stout and fits nicely in the molded cutout in the stoneware. The stoneware is nice, however, mine has a nick in it, and the pottery is exposed a little, where the coating did not reach. It was evident that this nick happened in the molding process, prior to being kiln fired, and glazed. Where I was really disappointed was in the control knob. Now I know it just turns the unit off, low, high, and warm, but it is cheaply made and feels loose on the dial spindle. It reminds me of a cheap plastic toy. There are no indicator lights on this unit. You can only tell that it is working by feeling the heat radiating off the sides of the pot. The Little Warmer is great, although I would have much preferred a glass top than the really cheaply done plastic lid. I also noticed too, that the Little Warmer that came with the Crock Pot is larger in size, height and diameter. I was puzzled at this. So I have two different sized Little Warmers. Overall I like the way the Crock Pot cooked my pot roast. I do not regret making my purchase, but would like to of seen some better materials used in making this appliance. Also, the size difference in the Little Warmer's left me puzzled. That's why I dinged it two stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the 8 qt Size I brought this about a year ago especially for the holidays as we made a soup appetizer for the family dinner. After the 2nd use, while transporting it to the car to go home, my husband acidentially dropped it, thus BREAKING the stoneware. I've been trying to order a replacement part but to no avail. The online keeps saying "Not in Stock." How long will I need to wait -- I don't want to order another when I should just be able to replace the part. Please help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DISATIFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT I purchased this product in October. I have had my first crockpot for 26 years and never had a problem. This one the first time I use it the crock cracked on the righthand side. Very disappointed, I only was able to use it one time. Also this one burns everything on LOW, this should not happen. I wish I would not have given my son my old one. It's been impossible to find a 8 qt. oval crock to replace this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My personal chef! I actually loved this crock pot, I let it cook overnight and wake up to a delicious meal. My cord burned after leaving it on the stove and turning on the wrong burner, my fault. Would definitely purchase another one some time in the future, can't afford it right now. For those that are saying that it's too hot on the outside, it's just like a pot on the stove however it's on your counter, it's going to be hot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY HOT ON OUTSIDE OF POT NOT SAFE! I purchased this model last year after our old crock-pot quit working. Purchased this model because I liked out old crock-pot. Have used twice once when first purchased but decided not to use it anymore because it gets to hot on the outside of the pot. Completely forgot about it getting hot on the outside. Used it tonight got VERY HOT on the outside will never used it again

Rated 2 out of 5 by from large gaps around lid I just purchased the 8 quart oval Crockpot and it cooks slower than my old one due to so much heat escaping around the very loose lid. If you look closely, you can see the air gap as it goes around the perimeter. I have to use aluminum foil over it to seal the gaps. Had I known this, I would have purchased a different slow cooker

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crockpot model # SCV-803-S-BR Junk Junk. It gets too hot (even on low). What used to take 6 - 8 hours in my older Rival it is now burnt in this crockpot in 2 - 3 hours. Don’t leave your house while cooking. Don’t waste your time complaining to Crockpot. You can file a claim if you have the ability to take all the pictures and forward. Poor customer service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The stoneware insert cracked. I am so upset with myself. I use my crockpot for practically 3 meals a week and one night I wanted to warm up the food and I put the stoneware insert with the food on my glass stove top to heat up. Well, I cracked it and now I can't use it. I didn't see in the instructions not to do that. Now what?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it I got this crockpot With the little gipper Years ago, And absolutely loved it. I loaned my mom the little dipper and my brother the crock pot and haven't seen The little dipper or the crockpot since, (lol). I purchased a more modern Crockpot one and now I'm looking to simply get the little dipper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! My wife and son bought this for me at Christmas. I have been using this almost 3 times a month for dinner recipes. So far, so good. Cooks a little fast, but I like that. Better than slow. This has replaced my 6 Qt. Wish it was bigger.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from short life Unfortunately this crockpot died on me after only being 1.5 years old. A different slow cooker i had previously lasted 14+ years, only bought this one b/c i needed a bigger one. And i only use it 1-2x/month. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for cooking roast and veggies. We had a Crock Pot that lasted us for about 25 years. When it lost it's life we purchased the new one. We are very pleased with the product and hope that it too will last us for the next 25 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be Careful! I have owned many crock pots and have been very happy with them. This one is the exception. Our side gets extremely hot and can burn to the touch.
