Care & Maintenance

ALWAYS turn your unit off, unPower Cord it from the electrical outlet, and allow it to cool before cleaning. Dishwasher safe parts can be washed in the dishwasher or with hot, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaning compounds or scouring pads. A cloth, sponge, or rubber spatula will usually remove residue. To remove water spots and other stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner or vinegar. As with any fine ceramic, the stoneware and lid will not withstand sudden temperature changes. Do not wash the stoneware or lid with cold water when they are hot. To clean the Temperature Probe, use a damp cloth and warm, soapy water. Make sure to dry thoroughly. Do not immerse the Temperature Probe in water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BobertosPizza from Big. Gets HOT on the outside I got this a few weeks ago and it’s my favorite way of cooking. Steaks last night, for example, were perfect. My dad raved about how tender they were. Pork chops a week ago were meh, cooked great but a poor recipe choice by me. 7 liters is big, there is plenty of space to feed a family. One recommendation I have is to start with water that’s already above your target temperature. I use an electric kettle but a stove would work too. When you put in food the water temperature will decrease about 10*F. If you wait for it to heat the water, the outside will get hot, very hot. I measured 140*F yesterday and it only had to get from 132F to 140F. I’ve never had a crock pot get so hot; it seems mildly dangerous. Also it takes very long for warm water to get hot—save your time by preheating.

If you’re some who likes flavorful food or enjoy food prep for several days, then this slow cooker sous vide is perfect. I liked that this slow cooker was an all in one package. I used the souls vide packets to place my chicken and seasoning over night. After pre heating the cooker I was slightly confused on how to set the time for actual cooking. Once I tinkered around with the buttons, I figured it out. I followed the recipe book exactly and left my chicken to cook. The slow cooker is great in that you can periodically check your food with out fear like a pressure cooker. The handles easily snap back on both sides for lid removal. The interior pot does get very hot and so do the sides. Place on a surface that can take heat. I loved that it came with a thermometer that ensures you food was cooked at a correct temperature. The recipe book was easy to follow and gave addition tips and dips to make your food taste better. I love the fact that I can set this device and come back to cooked food. The interior pot is spacious, heavy and durable but easy to clean. I feel that the control dial can be a bit more user friendly, when it comes to setting the actual cook time or adding extra cook time. A simple damp wipe on the exterior and I was able to store my product. After following the recipe my food came out great. After cooking as instructed, the chicken was finished up in a skillet. I can’t wait to try out more types of food.

I've thrown countless bone in pork shoulders in to slow cook in the past and have always had to stick with the smaller sizes, with this I was able to size up and fix enough pulled pork for a very together of 15 people and still had a bit left over. I'm fairly new to the sous vide scene, so while I've not toyed with it much, what I have tried has been successful, full of flavor, and oh-so-easy! This has become a countertop consistency in our home as we both work full time jobs and love to have dinner waiting for us when we get home. You can't go wrong with Crockpot's - 7 Quart Slow Cooker/Sous Vide

Cook time was accurate as well as temperature (measured with included probe). Cooker insert is on the heavier side which appears to be of high quality. Stainless steel exterior is very attactive. Followed a recepie with included cookbook. Easy to follow instructions and the stew turned out perfect.

It has a locking lid, sturdy handles, removable stoneware, a temperature probe, and the controls are digital. This model has the Sous Vide feature and comes with 5 plastic sealable bags. It also has a recipe book. The controls are easy to use and figure out, and I really like the keep warm settings . The temperature probe is great to make sure meat is not under cooked. Clean up is easy with just soap and water. The base of this crockpot does get hot so don’t leave it against anything. I really like this slow cooker / crockpot. It’s very easy to use and I use mine quite often.

I was unfamiliar with the sous vide style of cooking, but the directions make it very easy to understand. I like the digital settings. The circular knob handle on the lid, and the lid closure clasps are not as strong or high quality look as I would like. Overall, I love this product with an extra feature, to make it an upgrade from my former slow cookers.

I've made beef stew twice using the crockpot setting and had my first stab at making sous vide steak and it was fantastic! Very clear instructions included with temperature guage (which plugs in to the front panel and is inseted through a hole in the top of the lid), plastic bags, and a recipe book. Everything you need to give sous vide a try. The push button controls on the digital panel are user friendly and simple to understand. There are options for sous vide, slow cooking, and to keep warm, as well as time cook, with a digital timer that I LOVE! No more guesswork on when your meal is ready. This model also has a locking lid making it great for bringing to potlucks! No more risk of spills. I immediately gave my other slow cooker to my niece. This is my new favorite appliance and I can't wait to try more sous vide recipes.

The thermometer is perfect for checking meats so I don't have to keep opening the pot. I haven't tried the sous vide yet but its on my list of things to try soon since grilling season is almost finish. 7qts is the perfect size for me, I can make a meal just for me or for everyone. I have no dislikes, I tried to find one and there wasn't anything to gripe about. Overall if you want to upgrade your crockpot game this is the appliance you should invest in.

Thanks for sharing your quesiton. For the Crock-Pot Programmable 7-Quart Cook &amp; Carry Slow Cooker with Sous Vide (Stainless Steel) &mdash; the temperature range depends on which mode you're using:

Slow Cook mode: typically cycles between about 170&deg;F (low) to 200&ndash;210&deg;F (high) &mdash; not precise enough for holding milk at exactly 81&deg;F.

Sous Vide mode: this model can be set to a specific temperature, ranging from 70&deg;F to 190&deg;F &mdash; so 81&deg;F is possible using Sous Vide mode, and it should hold it steady.

For your purpose (holding milk at 81&deg;F), you would need to use the Sous Vide function &mdash; not the regular slow cook settings.
