Care & Maintenance
    • ALWAYS turn your unit off, unplug it from the electrical outlet, and allow it to cool before cleaning. Dishwasher safe parts can be washed in the dishwasher or with hot, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaning compounds or scouring pads. A cloth, sponge, or rubber spatula will usually remove residue. To remove water spots and other stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner or vinegar. As with any fine ceramic, the stoneware and lid will not withstand sudden temperature changes. Do not wash the stoneware or lid with cold water when they are hot.
Warranty
1 Year Limited Warranty. See Instruction Manual for Additional Details.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, but.... It works ok if you know the trick. The trick, meaning the settings dial is incorrect. HIGH and LOW are reversed. It took a few years of infrequent use before we figured this out. Also, when you wash the lid, you have to remove the screw holding the lid's knob because soapy water will get in, but doesn't drain out.

Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question. Yes, it is normal for the heating base to get quite hot while cooking. The heating element wraps around the sides of the unit. Due to the proximity between the heating element and the exterior of our slow cookers, it is normal for them to get quite hot on the outside. Therefore, on both the outside of the unit and in the product's instruction manual we recommend using a hot pad if you need to touch the unit during cooking. We hope this information helps.
