Hello. Thank you for your questions about the Crockpot 6 Qt. Cook & Carry Programmable Slow Cooker. We are happy to help clarify. The temperature remains consistent based on the selected heat setting, low, high, or warm, and does not change depending on the time duration you choose. For example, cooking on low for 4 hours and low for 8 hours uses the same temperature; the only difference is the length of cooking time. Yes, the slow cooker automatically switches to the warm setting once the programmed cook time is complete. It will not shut off entirely on its own but will keep your food warm until you turn it off manually. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via our Contact Us form on our website. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am - 5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Crockpot® Consumer Care

Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us. To clarify, you can press the SELECT button to choose a programmed time and temperature. The available cook time options are 4 or 6 hours on HIGH, or 8 or 10 hours on LOW. Once you make a selection, the corresponding indicator light will illuminate, the slow cooker will begin heating, and the internal timer will start counting down. When the cooking time is complete, the Crock-Pot slow cooker will automatically switch to the WARM setting, and the WARM light will illuminate. We hope this information proves helpful. If you have further questions you can reach out to us directly via our official CrockPot website's "Contact us" page or through LiveChat.
