Care & Maintenance
- ALWAYS turn your unit off, unplug it from the electrical outlet, and allow it to cool before cleaning. Dishwasher safe parts can be washed in the dishwasher or with hot, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaning compounds or scouring pads. A cloth, sponge, or rubber spatula will usually remove residue. To remove water spots and other stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner or vinegar. As with any fine ceramic, the stoneware and lid will not withstand sudden temperature changes. Do not wash the stoneware or lid with cold water when they are hot.

Burnt dish
I started my Crock-Pot on low this morning and did some things around the house and ran a quick errand. I came home to stir it and one side was completely burnt and the other cooking just fine. The one side is so burnt I can't get the residue off so I can no longer use this item. I'm also scared to use it if it burns something again or catches fire.

couldn't live without it!
This slow cooker is fantastic when you are invited to a friend's house and need to bring a main dish or an appetizer. Transports very easily. I have cooked many dishes for events that have been the hit of the party. Did a ham in it for my teenage son and friends for their holiday party. It was a hit! I would recommend this highly!

LOVE My Crockpot!
I absolutely love my crockpot. You can throw in a whole bunch of ingredients and the only prep work is cutting up vegetables if you’re using fresh. You don’t even have to cook your meat before throwing it in. I always turn her to high and my food is done in 4-5 hours. Just check in on your food every hour or so and give it a good stir and then get back to relaxing. Everything i’ve cooked in my crockpot has been a hit! chicken is moist all the way through with incredible flavor. Roasts fall apart by the touch of a fork

Can’t get smell out of lid.
Bought this a while back and now just getting a chance to use it for the first time. Used it to make chicken noodle soup and cannot get the smell out of the rubber on the lid. Tried washing with multiple things. Even tried to soak it in baking soda and vinegar. Will not get the smell out of it.

Easy and Easier
This slow cooker is very simple to use and take to a party. It holds a large amount for events. I used an entire package of frozen meatballs, a jar of barbecue sauce, and a jar of grape jelly to make an audience-pleasing sports crowd. With a slow cooker liner, even the cleanup was a snap.

i have 8 crock pots 2 are really old but still work well bought the triple lil pot for holidays but not to happy with it..love my 7 quart pots have 2 i use for everything..haven't used this new 6 qt yet but doesn't seem as heavy duty as my others my neighbor bought one a few mths ago says it is nice loves the locking top for taking places..so i will let you know more after i finally use it...love all the rest so am sure it will be good too

Crock pot is the only brand I have used for a slow cooker and it will probably stay that way. It has always been reliable and everything has turned out exactly as I want it to. I love this slow cooker because of the locking lid. It makes it so much easier to transport without fear of spilling. The only thing I wish it had was more temperature settings than low, high, and warm. I know newer and other models have that option so I'm probably upgrade to one of those eventually.

Scratched!
I was so excited to use this for the first time and was super careful taking it out of the box, only to find a huge scratch/indentation on the inside of the pot. Still debating whether to still use it or if the integrity of the pots been compromised. I’m new to the whole slow-cooker thing so I just don’t know if something like this really matters in the long run? Kinda bummed now

NOTE: Unit should not be in the locked position while cooking. This is from the owners manual. I didn&rsquo;t remember this and locked my lid during cooking. The lid broke into tiny pieces . It&rsquo;s been 2 years and they still don&rsquo;t have a replacement lid.&nbsp;

The SCCPVL600 is a manual model. This model will cook on whichever setting you wish to use for as long as the recipe recommends. Since this is a manual model, it will not switch over to Keep Warm after the cooking time. Both High and Low stabilize at the same temperature (209&deg;F); it is just a matter of how long it takes to reach the simmer point.On High, it takes approximately 3-4 hours, whereas on Low, it takes approximately 7-8 hours to reach the simmer point. Warm will be aproxamately 170&deg; F.

I used my Crockpot for the first time today and it worked great. I did notice that after washing it there is a lot of condensation under the handle in the middle and since this is screwed in I don&rsquo;t see how this will dry out. &nbsp;Is this a defect?

Replacement Lid - Crock-Pot&reg; 6-Quart Oval Slow Cooker, 156004-900-090 will fit this model. I bought one and it fits mine. You won't be able to lock the lid on for transport, but you can cook with it.

No, you should never cook with the lid locked down. Too much pressure can build up. The locking lid is only for transporting the slow cooker. Thank you.

The lid will not seal unless it is locked. The lid is designed with a small gap to ensure that steam can escape during cooking. Otherwise, too much pressure may build up. Thank you.

No, do not lock the lid while cooking. The lid is only meant to be locked when transporting the unit. Locking the lid while cooking can cause too much pressure to build up inside the unit and could cause the stoneware to crack or the lid to shatter. Thank you for your inquiry.
