The handle broke off my pot, can I replace the outer stainless steel portion of the crockpot, the lid and ceramic portion is still good.

My daughter, Carole, just bought me a 2-qt. crockpot slow cooker. I read through the instructions and now want to try it out. The lid doew not seem to fit correctly - it is &quot;tipy&quot; - is this normal?
