I was unable to get any help here. I eventually found a pack of screws at a hardware store that work! It was NOT easy! Look for METRIC - Pan Phillips Machine - Zinc - M6-1.00 x 10 (HILLMAN - item #127132). There is one temperature setting on this model. When plugged in, the temperature of this unit is equivalent to the LOW setting on Crock-Pot slow cookers that have HIGH and LOW settings. The temperature stabilizes at 209&amp;deg;F and it takes approximately 7-8 hours to reach the simmer point. Beans must be softened completely before combining with sugar and/or acid foods. Dried beans, especially red kidney beans, should be boiled before adding to a recipe. Cover the beans with 3 times their volume of unsalted water and bring to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes, reduce heat, cover and allow to simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender. Soaking in water, if desired, should be completed before boiling.
