Honey Soy Pork Belly Sous Vide Recipe
Go for the gusto with this flavor-filled recipe. Glazed with a deliciously complex marinade of ginger, soy, sriracha, and honey, it satisfies the palate–and the appetite.
Ingredients:
- 1 ¾ pounds boneless pork belly, cut into 2 ½-inch strips
- 2 tablespoons ginger paste
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 3 tablespoons sriracha
- ½ cup honey
- Pepper flakes
- Cilantro
Instructions:
- Fill your Crock-Pot® slow cooker with Sous Vide ¾ full with hot water, then secure the lid.
- Insert the temperature probe into one of the openings on the lid. Press SOUS VIDE; set temperature to 165°F, and set time to 12 hours.
- Press START, and prep pork while the unit preheats.
- Add ginger paste, soy sauce, sriracha, and honey to a bowl; whisk to combine.
- Place pork belly into a resealable food storage bag. Pour sauce over pork belly until covered; seal bag.
- Once your slow cooker is preheated, fully submerge the bag. Secure lid and probe; press START.
- Press STOP after the timer ends. Allow pork to rest in the bag for 15 minutes.
- Remove pork from bag; reserve cooking liquid. Pat pork dry.
- Heat a skillet over medium high heat. Add oil to the pan.
- Sear pork belly on all sides until browned and crispy; 1 to 2 minutes per side.
- Remove pork from skillet and set aside.
- Add cooking liquid to skillet, and cook until reduced by half.
- Drizzle glaze over pork. If desired, garnish with cilantro and pepper flakes.
