Caramel and Apple Pound Cake

Ingredients:
  • 4 medium baking apples, cored, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice
  • 1/2 pound caramels, unwrapped
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 11/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 prepared pound cake, sliced (about 10 ounces)
  • Whipped topping (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Coat inside of Crockpot™ slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Layer apples, apple juice and caramels in Crockpot™ slow cooker.
  2. Mix together peanut butter, vanilla, cinnamon and cardamom in small bowl. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto apples. Cover; cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours.
  3. Stir. Cover; cook on LOW 1 hour. Spoon apples over cake slices. Top with whipped cream, if desired.
