BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches Slow Cooker Recipe

Simmered in homemade barbecue sauce, these BBQ pulled pork sandwiches from @fettysfoodblog feature succulent pork served on toasted buns with crunchy coleslaw for the perfect bite.

Ingredients:
    • 3 to 4 pounds pork shoulder or pork butt, trimmed of excess fat
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 cup ketchup
    • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
    • 1/4 cup chicken broth
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Hamburger buns or sandwich rolls, for serving
    • Coleslaw, for serving (see note below)

Instructions:

  1. Season pork with salt and pepper, then place it in your Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour barbecue sauce evenly over the pork, cover, and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours (recommended) or HIGH for 4 to 6 hours, until pork is fork tender.
  4. Shred the pork directly in your slow cooker using two forks and discard any excess fat.
  5. Toast hamburger buns or sandwich rolls, then spoon shredded pork onto buns and top with coleslaw. Serve immediately and enjoy!
    1. Recipe Notes:

      To make the coleslaw, combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a large bowl. Add in a 14-ounce package of coleslaw mix and toss to combine.
