Crunchy, salty and sweet trail mix makes the perfect combination of everything you want in a snack. In fact, the best part about slow-cooked trail mix is that you can add any ingredient that you want to satisfy all your pre-game cravings. Go for the classic nut, chocolate and dried fruit mix or get a bit more creative and start adding things like coconut shavings, peanut butter bits, pretzels, dry cereal and more. Pull out your Crock-Pot® Hook Up® Connectable Entertaining System 3-Piece Set to bring all three of these recipes to your next tailgate at the same time!

Classic Mountain Trail Mix
This may be as close as you'll get to the original trail mix recipe, but with your slow cooker you'll get a taste that's completely unique.

  • 1/2 cup cashews
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons butter, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup raisins.

In your slow cooker, combine all three nuts, vanilla extract, cinnamon and sugar. Lay pieces of butter on top. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, stir and then cover again and cook for another 30 minutes. Once cooled, stir in raisins and chocolate chips.

Pretzel Berry Trail Mix
This recipe gives the ultimate balance of a sweet fruity berry taste and the salty crunch of the pretzels. The fruits used in this recipe are blueberries, apricots and cranberries, but you can substitute in any dried fruit that you'd like.

  • 2 1/2 cups nuts, unsalted
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup dried blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water.

Combine all dry ingredients in your slow cooker. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, water, vanilla and sugar. Once mixed, pour that butter and sugar mixture over the dry ingredients in your slow cooker. Cook on high with a cover for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every so often. Dump into a bowl or onto a prepared sheet to cool.

  • 1 cup almonds, raw
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup honey.
