Best Caramel Slow Cooker Recipes
The sweet and chewy treat of caramel can be enjoyed on more than just candy apples during this time of year. This super easy recipe creates a sweet, salted caramel sauce that can be used as a topping on almost anything.
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon sea salt.
Line the bottom of your slow cooker with parchment paper. Place the can in and pour water into your slow cooker until covering the can. Turn your slow cooker to high until it comes to a boil, then turn to low and heat for 8 hours. Allow can to cool completely and then remove the caramel from the can and place in a bowl. Mix in the sea salt.
Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate
For a deliciously warm drink, use the salted caramel recipe above to create a festive hot chocolate.
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 cups whole milk
- 2 cups salted caramel (from above recipe).
Place the cocoa powder into your slow cooker and blend in the water with a whisk. Add 1 1/2 cups salted caramel to the mixture, saving 1/2 cup for the garnish. Slowly blend in the whole milk. Cover and cook on high for 1 1/2 hours. Reduce heat to low for serving and drizzle remaining salted caramel over each drink.

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup packed brown sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup salted caramel (from above recipe).
In one bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, bring together the cream, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and the butter until it is creamy. Then stir in vanilla. Add in 1/3 of the flour mixture followed by 1/3 cup of milk. Continue adding in milk and flour mixture. Then stir in the salted caramel sauce and blend well. Evenly spread the batter into the bottom of your slow cooker. Combine the remaining brown sugar with the boiling water, mixing together until the sugar is dissolved. Pour evenly over the batter in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours. Enjoyed best when served with ice cream!
