The most exciting part of preparing for Thanksgiving is choosing which desserts to make. The options are endless but for the holiday that revolves around all things food, pies are often the quintessential dessert. Spice things up a bit this year with these three creative dessert takes on Thanksgiving staples.

Pumpkin Pie Pudding
Liven up the classic Thanksgiving dessert of pumpkin pie with this unique recipe for pumpkin pie pudding. With the Crock-Pot® 3-Quart Manual Slow Cooker you can easily serve all of your party guests and you won't even have to think twice with the convenient warm setting. Keep the pudding in your slow cooker all night long - all you need is a spoon for serving!


  • 1 can solid pack pumpkin
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup baking mix
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Whipped topping, optional.

In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients except for the whipped topping. Once mixed, transfer to your slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours. Serve with whipped topping as a garnish if desired.

Cranberry Stuffed Apples
Add a sweet and savory dish to your spread this year with this stuffed apple recipe. The warm and seasonal spices in this dish are what make it so festive. With a dollop of whipped cream on top -you've got the best dessert at the Thanksgiving dinner table!


  • 5 apples, cored with bottom in tact
  • 1/3 cup cranberries, chopped
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Chopped nuts, if desired
  • Whipped topping or vanilla ice cream, optional.

Recipe can be doubled if desired.

Peel the top third of each apple {Need to hollow out the apples?} and place each one in your slow cooker. In a bowl, combine the cranberries, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add nuts if desired. Spoon the mixture into each apple. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, until apples are tender. Serve with ice cream or whipped topping and enjoy!

Three Berry Cobbler
You can't have a Thanksgiving dinner without a berry cobbler for dessert. Try out this tasty, fruity recipe for this year's cobbler.

Filling Ingredients:

  • 2 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups raspberries, fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup baking mix
  • 2/3 cup sugar.

In a large bowl, combine all of the fruit with the baking mix and sugar. Transfer to your slow cooker.

Topping Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cup baking mix
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon.

In a bowl, combine 2 1/4 cups baking mix, 1/4 cup of the sugar and melted butter. Drop mixture onto the fruit in your slow cooker. In another bowl, combine cinnamon and remaining sugar. Sprinkle over slow cooker cobbler and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours.
