It's National Peanut Month, which means it's time to start searching for tasty slow cooker recipes that use your favorite food as a main ingredient. Try one of the following dishes if you're looking for an easy place to start.

Slow Cooker Peanut Butter Soup
This dish from Crock-Pot Girl™ Jenn Bare is ideal for those chilly evenings where you want something both filling and warm to keep you cozy while you watch your favorite TV show.

You'll need:

  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup peanuts, chopped

Line your slow cooker with nonstick spray, then add broth, celery, salt, onion, butter and peanut butter. Cover the stoneware and allow ingredients to cook for about two to three hours on high. Add milk, flour and water, cover and cook for an additional 20 minutes. Serve topped with chopped peanuts.

Slow Cooker Chicken Mole
Mix up your dinner dishes with this tasty slow cooker recipe, which combines chicken, peanut butter and traditional mole sauce.

You'll need:

  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 9.5 ounces mole sauce
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 chilies in adobo sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Place sliced onion at the bottom of the slow cooker. Put chicken breasts on top of onion slices, then cover in salt and pepper. In a separate bowl, combine mole sauce, peanut butter, raisins, honey, cocoa powder, chilies and garlic, then pour over the chicken. Cover the stoneware and cook for five hours on low.

Slow Cooker Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter Balls
Dessert and peanut butter go together as well as peanut butter and ... well, you know. Try Jenn Bare's chocolate coconut peanut butter balls for a truly delectable dish.

You'll need:

  • 1 1/2 pound chocolate, candy coating
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup rice krispies

In a large bowl, stir together peanut butter, butter, vanilla, coconut, sugar and rice krispies. Mold the dough into individual balls, then place them on a cookie sheet and freeze for about an hour. Place the chocolate in your slow cooker, cover and set it on low. For an hour, stir every 15 minutes or so to prevent chocolate from hardening. Dip each frozen ball in the chocolate, then allow the coating to set before serving.

Recipes can be increased or decreased by one quart size per the cooking instructions. For smaller sauces and dips that calls for 3 quarts or less, it is not recommended to alter the unit size.
