Meals to Serve During the Big Game
It's time for the basketball rush, meaning there are two very distinctive reasons you should be gorging on savory dishes during the next few weeks: Either you're an avid sports fan who will be hosting friends to view the games while you nervously scratch off your ballots, or you're a television fanatic who will need to eat your feelings while your favorite shows are on hiatus.
Get out your slow cooker and try each of these dishes while you enjoy the spoils of the sport (or you patiently wait for your shows to come back on). Each dish comes to you courtesy of the Crock-Pot Girl™ herself, Jenn Bare.
Slow Cooker Enchilada Dip
Pick up a bag of your favorite tortilla chips and get to work, because you won't be able to resist this creamy dip.
- 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs
- 10-ounce can enchilada sauce
- 2 8-ounce packages of cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups shredded Pepper Jack cheese
Place chicken at the bottom of your sports-themed slow cooker, then pour on the enchilada sauce. Cover the stoneware and cook for about eight to 10 hours on low. Remove the chicken and cut it into small pieces, place it back in the slow cooker and stir together with cream cheese and Pepper Jack cheese. Allow the mix to cook for an additional 30 minutes before serving.
Slow Cooker Sweet, Hot & Crazy Chicken Bites
Regardless of your age, you can always admit that chicken nuggets are delicious.
- 2 pounds boneless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup sweet hot sauce
- 1/3 cup Blue Cheese
Chop chicken breasts into 2-inch pieces, then place them in your slow cooker. Pour the sweet hot sauce on top, stir together, and cook for about three to four hours on low. Stir in blue cheese before serving.
