Can you make a holiday ham in your slow cooker? Yes! In fact, If you're planning on whipping up a ham for your holiday festivities this year, your best bet is to cook it with your Crock-Pot 6.5-Quart Countdown Touchscreen Digital Slow Cooker. Slow cooking a ham will produce the best results and it eliminates the risk of the meat drying out. In your slow cooker the ham will stay moist and succulent, soaking up the rich flavors of the glaze.

Cooking a Ham in Your Slow Cooker
Cooking a ham in your slow cooker requires very little preparation. You can choose from a number of different glazes, including the two recipes below. Then simply set up your device, place the ham inside and let the magic happen.

  1. Coat your slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. On the top of the ham, make cuts about 1/4 inch deep in a diamond pattern.
  3. Place the ham in your slow cooker and cover with desired glaze.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours.
  5. Ensure that internal temperature of ham reaches 140 degrees.
  6. Once ham is fully cooked, remove from your slow cooker and cover it loosely with foil.
  7. Strain the cooking juices and then slice the ham.
  8. Pour the juices over the sliced ham and serve on a platter.

Pineapple and Mustard Glaze
Pineapple brings a sweet and fruity touch to a holiday ham, made complete with the ground stone flavors of brown mustard.


  • 2 cans pineapple slices, packed in juice
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/3 cup whole grain mustard.

Drain pineapple from the can and keep 3/4 cup juice. In a bowl, whisk together the juice, brown sugar and mustards. Once your ham is in the slow cooker, coat it with the glaze. Using toothpicks, attach the pineapple rings along the top of the ham. Once it has fully cooked, cover it with more glaze. Slice, serve and enjoy!

Maple Brown Sugar Glaze
The woody but sweet flavor of maple paired with brown sugar is the perfect accent for a fully cooked ham. A pinch of cinnamon gives this recipe a festive touch.


  • 1/2 cup real maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown mustard
  • Dash of cinnamon.

In a saucepan, combine the maple syrup, brown sugar, apple juice, brown mustard and cinnamon. Bring to a boil and heat for about 2 minutes. Pour the glaze over your ham in your slow cooker. Cover and cook for allotted time. If desired, save some of the glaze for pouring over the ham after it is fully cooked.

Recipes can be increased or decreased by one quart size per the cooking instructions. For smaller sauces and dips that calls for 3 quarts or less, it is not recommended to alter the unit size.
