There are several flavors that you immediately associate with fall. From spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to foods like apple and pumpkin, these selections are staple foods on any table during this season. Whether you're prepping for Thanksgiving or merely looking for a delectable dessert to share with your friends, it's important to pick and perfect an apple pie recipe that will keep your guests begging for more.

Crock-Pot® Brand Ambassador Jenn Bare offers many unique takes on this timeless dish, so next time you're using your slow cooker to prepare this pie, be sure to consider one of these variations.

Apple Pie Coffee Cake
Can't decide between pie and cake? Why not have both?

Consider this Crock-Pot® coffee cake apple pie that can be enjoyed for breakfast, brunch or dessert. Start by combining 20 ounces apple pie filling, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 3 tablespoons brown sugar in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, combine two 9-ounce boxes of yellow cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup sour cream, 3 tablespoons butter, 1/2 cup evaporated milk and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon - this bowl will be your batter.

Coat the bottom of your slow cooker with butter or nonstick spray, then spread half of the first mixture on the bottom. Add 1/2 of the batter bowl, then coat with another layer of the apple mixture followed by one more layer of batter. Cover the dish and cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours on high. Be sure to prepare the dish in your Crock-Pot® Smart-Pot® Slow Cooker, which can keep your cake warm until you're ready to serve.

Apple Caramel Pie
If your sweet tooth it seemingly insatiable, you'll want to consider this Slow Cooker Apple Caramel Pie that's ideal for serving with your favorite vanilla ice cream or homemade whipped topping.

Place two pieces of refrigerated pie crust dough at the bottom of your slow cooker so the bottom is covered. Cook the crusts for 1 1/2 hours on high. In a bowl, combine 22 ounces canned apple pie filling, 1 tablespoon cinnamon and 12 caramel candies. Pour the mixture on the warm crust, then cover the slow cooker again. Let the pie cook for an additional 1 1/2 hours on low and keep the mix warm until you're ready to serve. Be sure to top the caramel apple pie with pecans, walnuts or toppings that are well-suited to enhance the flavors.

Due to the slow ramp up, and even heating of a slow cooker, recipes featured on this site can be cooked in a range of slow cooker sizes. Recipes can be increased or decreased by one quart size per the cooking instructions. For smaller sauces and dips that calls for 3 quarts or less, it is not recommended to alter the unit size. Crock-Pot® is a registered trademark and should not be used generically when referring to a 'slow cooker' within the recipes.
