This year, we received dozens of delicious, entertaining and festive recipes from slow cooker aficionados across the country. We are pleased to announce that among the throng of tantalizing submissions, we have selected a victor to receive the grand prize of $5,000.

The 2015 Ultimate Crock-Pot Crock-Star™ is...

Dan L. from Illinois!

Congratulations to Dan L. and the other finalists who made it to the top five!

If you want to try Dan L.'s winning dish, Red and Gold Crock-Pot Beef Stew, check out his entry here, or view the recipe below:

What you'll need:

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 2 pounds stew beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 potatoes, chopped
  • 1 butternut squash, peeled, scooped and chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped

Add flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the slow cooker, then pour in the beef broth. Once the dry ingredients have dissolved, add the stew beef. Next, add the vegetables - onion, potatoes, squash and red pepper - then stir all the ingredients together until they're well-blended. Set the slow cooker to high and cook for four hours, or set it to low and cook for eight hours.
