Rated 5 out of 5 by Crock-Pot Casserole Crock Slow Cooker Rules!! I just love my new Crock-Pot Casserole Crock Slow Cooker!! It works great! It is so convenient to now be able to make casserole dishes without having to stack everything in a round deep crock!! I recently made a chicken & rice casserole, and it turned out perfect!! It gives you the option for more variety, by having the square dish verses a large round one. You don't have to stack everything on top of each other. You just put your chicken in, layer your rice on top, add other ingredients, and set your temperature. You will have a great casserole dish in no time. I like that it has different heating temperatures, and it is truly a great looking product. I would recommend this Crock-Pot Casserole Crock Slow Cooker to anyone that loves to make casseroles with ease. I received this product to try for free, although the views & opinions expressed are entirely my own. February 27, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Crock-Pot casserole Crock slow cooker Good for take along casseroles Works great for casseroles, has plenty of room for all ingredients. Really like that I can either use as a crock pot to cook all day, or when in a hurry can make the casserole in the ovenproof dish and then keep warm in the crock pot unit. I did find the whole unit a little large and heavy. February 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Cooker! I really love this slow cooker! The color makes it look so much better sitting on my counter. I like how easy it is to clean too. I also think it has a better seal on the lid than my other cooker which is great since it doesn't let the heat escape and slow the cooking time. I also really like that when it's done you just lock the lid in place and take it with you. Perfect for get together's anywhere. I received this as a sample to try and have been using it about 3-4 times a week and have put my other slow cooker away in the cabinet. February 28, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Not just for a casserole At first glance you would assume this would only be good for casseroles but other than a full roast, it is the perfect small appliance. Slow cooking in my household occurs at least once a week. This crock does a fine job with even heating and simple controls. My favorite dishes have been to put dry rice or beans as a bed with meat on top (typically chicken) and poor in some stock and seasonings. When finished, all the liquids are absorbed and creates a nice presentation because the meat is spread out for individual servings without needing to dig through the pot for what you are looking for. Better yet, latch the lid and you can put on the seat of your car without the worry of it spilling over. You can even use it to make some homemade soup that simmers all day and then take it over to Grandma’s. I really have no idea why nobody thought of this before. I got this crock as a test model and it has replaced my old crock as I like it so much. March 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for carrying casseroles I like the fact that the Crock-Pot casserole Crock slow cooker is wider and more open and shallower than the previous crock pot I owned. I cook lots of casseroles, and it is like a casserole dish, which will make me use it more than a regular round crock pot. It also is the perfect shape to try cooking cake in. The glass lid makes it easy to see the contents, and I love the clasps on the lid! They make it easy to keep the lid on, and the food in, when transporting it. I am looking forward to using the removable stoneware in the oven. It is so easy to pop in the dishwasher to clean, too! I received this Crock-Pot casserole Crock slow cooker as a sample to review, and I am so glad I did, because I really love it, and will be using it a lot. March 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Attractive Design, Limited Use When I found out I was receiving the Crock-Pot® Casserole Crock™ Slow Cooker to test in my home, I was really excited. After all, I'm a Crock-Pot® girl through and through. I'll try another brand if they have new features, but I always come back to the Crock-Pot® brand. When un-boxing the Crock-Pot® Casserole Crock™ Slow Cooker, the first thing I noticed was the color of the unit (I received red, not blue). The red color is really beautiful, and matches my kitchen perfectly! The next thing that struck me was the weight of the crock; this thing is well made, and heavy! Even so, it's very portable, and I love the locking handles. The handles do tend to get in the way occasionally, but this was minimal. The first dish I made was pork chops in a creamy pesto sauce. The dimension listed is 9x13, but the inside bottom of the dish is roughly 7 1/2 x 11 1/2, and this didn't allow me to fit 4 pork chops without overcrowding and "smushing". I had to watch the dish carefully and re-position the chops after they cooked down a little. The pork chops did turn out tender, and my family loved the dish. The next thing I made was an Italian sausage cheese dip to take to a potluck at work. After browning the meat, and slowly incorporating sauce and cheese in my saucepan, the texture was very creamy. I transferred everything into the Crock-Pot® Casserole Crock™ Slow Cooker, then sprinkled Parmesan over the top. I wanted to throw it under the broiler to toast the Parmesan, but I remembered that the crock cannot be placed under the broiler. I began using my kitchen torch on the cheese instead, but that much surface space was a lesson in futility. I cheated and used the broiler anyway, leaving the oven door open. I didn't experience any trouble this time, but won't make a dish again that requires broiling because I'm afraid of ruining the crock. After an hour of being in the casserole dish on warm, so much condensation had built up under the lid that water was running into my dip, separating the sauce and cheese. What was once a creamy, delicious dip turned into a stringy, watered down mess. I then made a bunch of stuffed mushrooms, broiled them on a baking sheet, and transferred them to my Crock-Pot® Casserole Crock™ Slow Cooker to keep warm. Again, there was so much condensation under the lid that I had a lot of standing water after an hour. I realize mushrooms exude water, but not this much. I really wanted to love the Crock-Pot® Casserole Crock™ Slow Cooker, but found its limitations disappointing. Even though it's a 3.5 quart capacity, the surface area of the inside bottom of the crock is too small to fit meat for a family of four. The condensation build-up under the lid is significant enough to make your dish watery, and I'm not sure what effect leaving the lid off will have on your food. I wish I could put the crock under the broiler, as many of my casserole recipes call for a quick broil of the toppings. I think the Crock-Pot® Casserole Crock™ Slow Cooker would be great for certain dishes, like a creamy hash brown bake or enchiladas. I can also see myself using this for entertaining, especially to keep side dishes warm - but only with the lid off. I was hoping to be able to use it several times a week, but I think its use will be relegated to a few times a month. While I may not get a lot of use out of it, someone else may, and for the quality I would recommend the Crock-Pot® Casserole Crock™ Slow Cooker. I'm thrilled I received this as a sample to review, but I don't think I would have bought something with such limited use for myself. February 27, 2014
