Way too hot I must agree with those that find this cooks too hot. I've never used above the "low" setting and the food is constantly burning. It keeps cooking--actually cooking--on the "keep warm" setting. In fact, this morning I tried cooking clotted cream on "keep warm" and after an hour or so it was boiling and scorched. Bummer. Too hot I bought this brand because my first 2 slow cookers were Crock Pots. I gave one to my mother and the stoneware on the second broke so I decided to get fancy and get one with a timer. My first 2 Crock Pots behaved similarly. This one, after first use is being returned. A meal that always took no less than 6 hours to cook was almost done after 3.5 hours on low. I changed the setting to keep warm. I checked 1 hour later and it was now boiling and the meal was burned on the sides and bottom. I've never seen anything boil in a slow cooker. Again, this was the warm setting. The outside of the appliance was too hot to touch. I saw where Crock Pot responded to another reviewer that the newer models do operate at higher temps but never acknowledged the flaw of the warm setting being hotter than low. This is a DEFECT, not a feature of a new product. June 15, 2015
I love the versatility of this slow cooker This is an excellent slow cooker that I highly recommend to everyone. February 14, 2015
great crock pot I needed a crock-pot that switched over to warm after cooking - this one is that and more since it has the sealable lid which makes transporting for pot-lucks etc that much easier. My only complaint is that I recently broke the stoneware insert and I cannot find a replacement that matches this product number - any suggestions?? March 31, 2015
Get another one!!! I received this as a Christmas gift. I totally love it!!! The fact that I can lock the lid and take it to functions is fantastic!!!! I love it!!!! February 12, 2015
Crock-Pot Cook & Carry Manual Slow Cooker, Silver The cook and carry slow cooker I have is very well used. I own and operate an in home Child care center and work with 6 kids (ages 2 to 5) from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. so as you can imagine my time and energy outside of work hours is zapped! That made dinners around our house more along the lines of fast food. Then on my mother's advice I purchased my slow cooker and my world changed! Away went the boxed pizza dinners and such. I made myself a promise that I would make dinner in the crock pot at least 3 nights a week, and the best part is I can let the kids help "load" the machine, they measure and estimate, which plays right into our curriculum. I then started following a woman online that vowed to do nothing but Crock Pot cooking for 1 whole year and my life has never been the same since. I chose this model because of its locking lid ,it even came with it's own snapped on serving spoon! It cooks nice and evenly. I love the warm cycle. Clean up is so easy as the center pulls out for ease. February 11, 2015
AWESOME I love this CrockPot! It is so nice to cook and be able to take things like chili or soups and know that it is not going to spill all over my car. It cooks so even and everything comes out great! LOVE IT!!! February 6, 2015
OK but not he best Got this as a Christmas gift and its OK, not the best crock pot I have ever had. This unit gets WAY to hot, even on low. I have never ever in my life burnt a meal in a crock pot until using this one. Everything needs to be cooked on low and the suggested cook time decreased. The warm setting actually seems to be higher than the low one. My soup started boiling after being set to warm. The plastic clamps on the lid are very weak. I have used it twice with no issues, but he third time i tried to lock the lid one of the plastic brackets snapped in half...I definitely will not be buying another of this model once this one needs to be replaced (which, at this rate, will prob be very soon).
