Rated 4 out of 5 by BarbW Good product design I recently had to replace my crockpot, and was excited to look for one with updated features. Although I got a great deal on my Crock Pot, I think saying that it is "programmable" is a bit misleading. I thought I would be able to set it on "high" for a few hours, then follow it with "low" for a few more, prior to it going to "keep warm". I was disappointed when I learned that it is capable only of the hours on either high or low, then it goes to warm following. That being said, I am happy with the design, how the lid stays in place for transport, and there are significant areas to lift the hot crock out of the base easily. Thanks, Crock Pot! January 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Customer Roomy 6 Quart Capacity When batch cooking non-soaked beans (kidney, pinto, black, etc.) I need to stir two separate times. Otherwise they will stick to the side furthest from me (same as my last crock pot - which lasted 13 months). My beans cook well in about 13 hours. The time lengthens as the crock pot gets older. My beans simmer on low and they boil on low near the end of the cooking time. Crock Pots are not the quality they use to be (plastic, thin "metal" and they do not last as long. I continue to purchase the Crock Pot brand since it's been around for years. I'm not sure that my 6 Quart Count Down Crock Pot was new when it arrived. (Purchased 12/12.) January 14, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by TammyS Big Crock-Pot Fan - Just Not For This Model I am a huge Crock-Pot fan. I love cooking with a slow cooker and have always preferred Rival brand. However, I was disappointed in this model. It did not heat up nearly enough. I ended up having to increase to "high" and adding 2 extra (and unplanned) hours to the cooking time. Needless to say, we had to make other arrangements for dinner that night. There are two vent holes in the lid (not shown in any pictures on the web) and I don't know if that made a difference or not. To be fair, I've only used it once. I will certainly try again and hope for better results. Maybe lay some potholders across the vent holes to see if that makes a difference. December 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by CJB88 Prepare delicious meals for a holiday buffet and keep it all warm while you enjoy your company. We purchased 4 Crock-Pot Countdown Designer Series Slow Cookers. Prior to this purchase we considered installing a warming drawer in the cabinets below our buffet, but the Designer Series offers more flexibility and is a much less expensive way to accomplish the goal of cooking food and keeping it warm and attractively displayed on our dining buffet. It has a digital timer that can be set to cook on high or low for 30-minutes to 20 hours. The timer automatically shifts to warm when cooking is complete. Removable, dishwasher save stoneware, cord storage and flip-down handles help to make cleanup and storage easier. December 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by tammk All the features you could want I already have a programmable Crock-Pot brand which I got at Target a few years ago, and love it...this one has a few extra features that are very nice, the retractable cord, the handles that are hidden. But the fact that you can program at high, low for the amount of time you want or move it to keep warm is the feature that is absolutely the best. Other models you only have limited choices of 4,6,8,10 hours and sometimes can't "force" to warm if something is done earlier than expected. December 18, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by MaryW Great looking cooker for all occasions. I love this Crock Pot that I purchased from this site at a fabulous Cyber Monday price. The cooker is very good looking and super easy to use. The best feature is the keep warm setting. Also it is just a stunning looking piece of cooking equipment that can do it all. I gave it 4 stars because I miss the Auto setting from the old days. That setting allowed the cooker to stay on High for an hour and then automatically shifted to Low until you turned it off. If you could combine the Auto setting with the keep Warm setting, you'd have THE perfect machine! December 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheila LOVE IT!!! My original Crock Pot is still going strong after nearly 30 years and my new one is a huge step up from the original! The programable along with the keep warm features are fabulous. The cord storage is a great addition, it tucks nicely into the back of the unit. Another feature I found to be beneficial are the fold down handles, which makes for easier storage. I have used this crock pot several times in the few weeks since purchasing and have been very happy with it. December 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jenniferc1024 Love, love, love! Did I mention I love my new crock? I used it at our annual company potluck to cook our ham and my old crockpot brand crockpot to make green bean cassarole. I received a lot if ooos and ahhhhs on the look of the new crock and how well it cooked the ham. The plugs hide away was the other topic of conversation. I love my crockpot brand crockpots so much, I am gifting my daughter her first crock this year. I now need to replace my older round crockpot that Ive had for 10 years. December 19, 2012
