2-Ingredient Chicken Recipes

Thanks to slow cooking, meal prep doesn't have to take up your entire evening and it often doesn't even require that many ingredients. You've read our favorite 4-ingredient recipes and even indulged in these 3-ingredient chicken dishes, but believe it or not it gets even better. There are several recipes that call for just two ingredients! For extremely easy prep and delicious results, follow these recipes in your Crock-Pot® Smart-Pot® 4-Quart Digital Slow Cooker below:

Chicken Salsa
If you're a fan of Mexican dishes, but don't necessarily love spending time in the kitchen, this is the perfect dish for you. Requiring just two ingredients, less than two minutes of preparation and merely two minutes of shredding once the chicken has slow cooked, this recipe couldn't be anymore seamless to make. It also makes great leftovers.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pounds boneless and skinless chicken breast
  • 2 cups favorite salsa

Directions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Top with 2 cups salsa and toss well to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  4. Remove chicken and shred with two forks.
  5. Return to slow cooker and mix with salsa, adding lime juice, salt or pepper if desired.
  6. Serve warm on tortilla shells, over nachos, topped on a salad or as is!

Barbecue Chicken
One of the most classic chicken dishes, barbecue chicken is perfect when slow cooked as it can really soak up that smoky, rich flavor. All you need is your favorite barbecue sauce and chicken breasts! 

Ingredients:

  • 4 pounds boneless and skinless chicken breast
  • 2 cups favorite barbecue sauce

Directions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Top with 2 cups barbecue sauce and toss well to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  4. Remove chicken and shred with two forks.
  5. Return to slow cooker and serve warm on choice of buns.
