3 Fun Twists on Dip for Your Next Party

When you have a crowd of people with different tastes and preferences, it's difficult to find a few appetizers that will please everyone. Fortunately, dips were invented for this very situation. There's a dip for every occasion and preference, and everything from crackers to chips to veggies can be used to scoop up the sweet or savory goodness. But the same old dip can get old after preparing it for all of your parties.

Keep guests on their toes with these tasty twists on dips. After preparing each one, transfer into the Crock-Pot® Little Triple Dipper® Food Warmer to keep warm and serve all of them at once!

1. Cheeseburger Dip
The only thing better than a cheeseburger is one you don't need both hands to enjoy. With this hearty cheeseburger dip, you and your guests can get all of the great taste of the classic American sandwich with ease.

You'll Need:

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sesame seeds and parsley for sprinkling
  • 2 medium red bell peppers, cut into bite-size strips for dipping
  • Chips, pretzels and bread for dipping.

In a large saucepan over high heat, cook ground beef with onion until meat turns brown. While that cooks, fry bacon, turning over as each slice turns brown. Remove beef and bacon from heat and drain out any grease that forms. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, mayo, ketchup, cheddar cheese and salt. Stir in beef and bacon, then transfer mixture into slow cooker. Cover with lid and cook on low for 2 hours. Sprinkle sesame seeds and parsley on top, then serve with peppers, chips, pretzels and bread.

2. Cinnamon Roll Dip
Who says dip needs to be savory? Take the best part of cinnamon buns - the frosting - and turn it into a dip that you'll need to whip out at every future party you throw. Guests will definitely request this the next time they come over.

You'll Need:

  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons caramel ice cream topping
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Strawberries, marshmallows and bread for dipping.

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Then add butter and combine well. Add vanilla extract, powdered sugar, cinnamon and caramel sauce. Mix well, then transfer mixture to slow cooker. Cover with lid and cook on low for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Use cinnamon sticks as skewers for your fruit, bread and other snacks that you plan on dipping.

3. Loaded Baked Potato Dip
Everyone loves loaded baked potatoes, so why not turn it into a dip? The cheesy, fluffy concoction can be used to dip in everything from celery to carrots. Resist the urge to eat it by the spoonful!

You'll Need:

  • 2 1/4 pounds Yukon gold or other yellow-flesh potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1 12-ounce package bacon
  • 1 10-ounce carton cream cheese for cooking
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • Sour cream-and-onion potato chips or sweet pepper wedges.

Boil a pot of water and drop in potatoes. Cover with a lid and cook for 10-15 minutes. While potatoes cook, fry up bacon in a large pan over medium heat, turning over when brown. Remove from heat, pat dry and crumble. Remove potatoes from heat, strain water and mash to a fluffy consistency. Mix in cream cheese, sour cream, green onions and garlic salt and stir together. Transfer mixture to slow cooker, cover with lid and cook on low for 2 hours. serve with potato chips, peppers and other vegetables.
