Celebrate National Pie Day With These Slow Cooked Pie Recipes

- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder.
Coat the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Pour the cherry pie filling into the bottom of your slow cooker. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar and baking powder. Pour the dry mixture into your slow cooker on top of the cherry filling, do not mix. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours. Remove the lid and cook for another 30 minutes until the top is crispy. Serve with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
Nutty Pumpkin Pie Pudding
Add a little something different to your Pie Day celebration with a pumpkin pie pudding instead of the classic dish. Your taste buds will thank you later when you take that first bite into the rich, soft and nutty masterpiece.
- 1 can pumpkin (15 ounces)
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1-layer-size yellow cake mix
- 1 cup walnuts or pecans, toasted and chopped.
Use non-stick cooking spray to coat the inside of your slow cooker. Then, bring together the pumpkin, sugar, evaporated milk and 1 tablespoon of the pumpkin pie spice. Mix well and spread evenly across the bottom. In a bowl, stir together the cake mix, nuts and remaining 1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice. Sprinkle the dry mixture over the pumpkin pudding. Then pour the melted butter over the entire mixture in your slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 2 1/2 hours. Let the dessert cool uncovered for 30 minutes before serving. Add a topping if desired and enjoy!
