One-Pot Recipes for Your Hockey Party

Are you planning a festive hockey bash this season? Whether you're a big fan of the sport or you're looking for a fun excuse to show off your favorite slow cooker recipes, we've got you covered. Try out one of these tasty dishes next time you're hosting a hockey party for your friends.

1. Cheesy Nacho Bites
Treat your guests to individual bite-sized nacho treats as they enjoy watching the engaging sport, perfect for serving on your favorite festively decorated sports tray.

You'll need:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1 bag shredded lettuce
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bag tortilla chips scoops

Directions:
Begin by browning your ground beef in a medium-sized skillet. When the pink is completely gone from the meat, add it to the bottom of your slow cooker. Stir in tomatoes, onion, refried beans, salt and pepper, then cover the stoneware and allow the mixture to cook for about two hours on low. Remove the cover and stir in lettuce and 1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Spoon individual bites into tortilla scoops, topping with a dollop of sour cream and the rest of your cheddar cheese.

2. Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes
Sloppy Joes great for serving at your hockey party. Not only do they pair well with chips and appetizers, but they're simple to make and serve. Try Crock-Pot Girl™ Jenn Bare's delicious slow cooker spin on the dish.

You'll need:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Sloppy Joe sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
In a medium skillet, brown beef, then add chopped onions, peppers, garlic, salt and pepper. When the ingredients are well-blended, transfer them to your slow cooker. Pour on the sloppy Joe sauce, then stir all the contents of your dish together until they are completely coated. Cover the stoneware and allow the mix to cook for six hours on low. 

If you're feeling particularly culinary, Jenn Bare recommended baking potatoes beforehand, then scooping out the contents and serving your sloppy Joes inside. This will make the clean-up process easier, plus you'll have extra potato to create new sides with.

3. Hockey Puck Treats
