Recipes that Make Your Holiday Meal Prep Easier

With just a few days left until Christmas, the last minute errands, gifts and to-do lists seem to take forever. If there's one thing you shouldn't have to worry about this holiday season, it's meal preparation and cooking. Think of your slow cooker as your personal assistant this year. When it comes to holiday cooking, all you have to do is assemble the ingredients in your slow cooker. It will take care of the rest. Here are two super simple recipes to make for a house full of people.

Zesty Italian Casserole
With just three ingredients, this recipe couldn't be simpler - or tastier! This Italian casserole is a great meal for feeding guests before the real festivities begin.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 packages of ravioli
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce
  • 2-3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded.

Directions

  1. Coat your slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. Pour a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of your device.
  3. Then layer the raviolis, cheese and sauce repeatedly until the slow cooker is about 3/4 of the way full.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy with fresh baked bread.

Creamy Portabella Mushroom Chicken
Another recipe with less than five ingredients, this mushroom chicken dish is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint portabella mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 pounds chicken breast, sliced
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • Salt and pepper, to taste.

Directions

  1. Lay the sliced chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Cover them with the sliced mushrooms and pour the cream of chicken soup on top of that.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top to taste, then cover and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours.
  4. Serve warm and enjoy!
